Legacy Bosroete Apprenticeship

Practical Industry Apprenticeship (For Students Who Already Completed Theory)

This programme is specifically designed for individuals who have already completed their theoretical training and now need real, industry-based experience to complete their development. The Legacy Bosroete Practical Apprenticeship takes students out of the classroom and places them into the real world — where learning is earned through action, responsibility and hands-on involvement.

What This Programme Is

The Legacy Bosroete Practical Industry Apprenticeship is an 11-month, full-immersion practical year focused entirely on gaining experience in real operations across South Africa.
This is not simulated training — it is authentic rotational work exposure under qualified mentors.

Apprentices work and live alongside professionals on:

  • Game breeding farms
  • Hunting outfits
  • Conservation reserves
  • Outdoor education and field-camp operations
  • Eco-tourism lodges and ranch environments

Because all theory has already been completed, apprentices jump straight into practical application, daily operations and supervised industry tasks across multiple placements.

Why It Matters

Students who enter this programme already have the knowledge — what they need is experience.
This apprenticeship bridges the gap between qualification and employability by giving them:

  • Real employer evaluations
  • A completed skills logbook signed off by multiple mentors
  • Up to five professional testimonials
  • A CV backed by real on-the-ground experience
  • Direct exposure to industry leaders and networks

Graduates finish the Bosroete with references, proof of competency and often a job offer.

Where It Happens

Practical rotations take place across more than 100,000 hectares of diverse, privately-owned wildlife systems. These include:

  • Wildlife ranches
  • Conservation development projects
  • Hunting and outfitting operations
  • Lodges and eco-tourism facilities
  • Established WRSA-associated properties

Legacy works directly with award-winning wildlife ranchers, including multiple WRSA Game Rancher/Breeder of the Year winners, giving apprentices unmatched practical access to high-standard professional environments.

Students perform real duties but not as paid labour — learning remains the primary purpose.

  • Outdoor environmental conditions

Legacy enforces strict safety protocols and supervised activities at all times.
Participants must comply fully with safety instructions and conduct guidelines.
Misconduct may result in removal without refund.
